This project tells the story of a unique family house located at the very end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Nagykovácsi, nestled at the edge of a forest. From here, residents enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the cityscape beyond.

The architectural concept was primarily shaped by the steeply sloping terrain and the breathtaking scenery. The spatial layout also follows the dual priorities of maximizing views and supporting everyday living. The main communal areas – kitchen, dining room, living room, and a playroom – are placed on the top level, where the panorama becomes an integral backdrop to daily life. Bedrooms and guest rooms are located on the first floor, while the ground floor features dedicated workspaces designed to meet the family's home-office needs. The panoramic view extends here as well, creating a naturally inspiring workspace.

The building is oriented lengthwise towards the south-southeast, ensuring that the interior spaces are bathed in natural light and open up towards the vista. One of the house’s defining architectural features is a row of semi-covered balconies along the southeastern façade, offering a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, while also providing passive shading – through thoughtful, natural architectural means.

The building's structure is based on a timber post-and-beam (KVH) frame, finished on the interior with structural panel cladding, and clad on the façade with a ventilated larch board siding. The material palette is deliberately restrained and timeless: horizontal timber slats on the façade, natural larch cladding, and powder-coated light and dark grey metal sheets for the roof and eaves.

This project is also significant as it serves as a pilot for our innovative Equinox-System™, a prefabricated construction method. This is the first Equinox project that only used panalised elements, which were pre-made by our team.
